As you will see from our website, the dates for this course have changed. Jen will now be gathering cellists together on the weekend of 19 - 21 November, a change from the original date of 17 - 19 September. We are sure the change of date will only heighten our cellists' anticipation!

We are now offering places on the above course, which runs from 9 - 12 August, for £155 Resident and £125 Non-resident for anyone aged 25 and under!
During this midweek course, the conductor and researcher Christopher Gayford will help you improve and develop your score-learning, interpretation, gesture and rehearsal techniques, working with examples from the orchestral, choral and operatic repertoire. Some pieces might be specified in advance, and you are invited to play or sing in small ensemble versions of the works to provide your fellow participants with plenty of opportunities for hands-on conducting. So bring your instrument! Christopher’s course will benefit conductors at all levels, and places might be available for those who don’t want to conduct but instead to develop their listening and/or performing skills.

After going to press, Catherine Martin informed us that, unfortunately, she was unavailable to tutor on the Handel in Edgware course in December.
We are, however, delighted that Miles Golding has been able to step into the breach.
Local to the area (Miles lives in nearby Harpenden), Miles has enjoyed a long and varied freelance career, playing for many of the London orchestras as well as in smaller chamber ensembles.
Whilst his experience ranges from contemporary, classical and rock performance, for several decades he has devoted much time to period performance, playing with the Academy of Ancient Music, English Baroque Soloists, London Classical Players, English Bach Festival, the London Handel Orchestra, St James Baroque Players, the Orchestre Revolutionnaire et Romantique, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Collegium Musicum 90, and the Orchestra of the Sixteen.
We look forward to his insight and knowledge during this very special weekend devoted to two of Handel's Chandos Anthems in December.

Ian Cruickshank has sadly had to withdraw from the above course in December.
However, Richard Holmes will be able to step in to fill Ian's large shoes!
Richard is skilled in both electric and acoustic guitar, with expertise in both jazz and classical styles of playing.

The irreverant piano duo will now be performing on Friday December 3, a week later that originally planned.
Katzenjammer are Kevin Farrell and Steven Worbey, both graduates of the Royal College of Music. They have been compared to Victor Borge with their humourous interpretations of classics.
The name Katzenjammer means "cat's wail" and is often used to describe a hangover, but you won't experience either of these on this night of hilarity and music.
The concert starts at 8pm, tickets £11/£8 concessions.

We announce a change from the advertised line up for the above course in December.
The team will now be Timothy Lines on Clarinet, Martin Robertson on Saxophone with Rachael Buxton as accompanist.
Timothy Lines was principal clarinet for the London Symphony Orchestra from 1999-2003 and section leader of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra from 2004-2006, when he left to focus on his freelance career. He is now a professor at both the Royal College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music.
Martin Robertson is also a professor at the Royal College of Music as well as a graduate of the institution in both Clarinet and Saxophone. He is a noted recitalist and a regular guest of the major London orchestras, as both a freelance musician and a soloist.
Rachael Buxton will be well know to those who have attended our Fantastic Flutes courses. A postgraduate of the Academy, where she studied accompaniment, she is a busy accompanist and a fantastic addition to the team.
