Barbara Alden
Barbara Alden has worked with Benjamin Britten’s English Opera Group and other ensemble and theatre groups. She has been voice coach for Project 2000 Youth Theatre, Jersey, and the Neti-Neti Theatre Company, London. Her extensive teaching experience includes posts held at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art and Adult Education organisations. She teaches professional and amateur singers of all ages and in addition, has trained children performing at Glyndebourne, Royal Opera, ENO, National Theatre and RSC. Her article ‘Release Your Voice’ was published in the Choral Singer’s Companion (Thames/Elkin 2000) and she gives workshops on the subject to choral, drama and personal development groups. Her work includes the rehabilitation of strained or damaged voices and the therapeutic aspects of voice for meditation and well-being.
